Step 1: Strength Training – It’s Required
Strength training is an incredibly important part of anti-aging workouts for two reasons…
First, effective strength training regimens stimulate the release of natural hormones that diminish as you age. Testosterone (for men), estradiol and estrogen (for women) decrease as age increases.
Strength training promotes the release of these hormones.
Second, strength training helps prevent the loss of muscular strength known to accompany aging.
Doctor Len Kravitz’s study at the University of New Mexico proved that after just 26 weeks of resistance training, 179 genes associated with aging showed a reversal in gene expression.
And when doctors say “resistance training” they don’t mean heading to the gym and using stationary machines either.
