That being said food probably has the greatest impact on your body’s aging process.  And unfortunately in Western culture we’re inundated with foods that speed aging rather than slowing it down… the biggest culprit being sugar.

Here’s the deal, when sugar mixes with protein it forms a compound called Advanced Glycation End products or AGEs for short.  When AGEs are formed it produces a large number of volatile molecules called free radicals as a byproduct.

All molecules have electrons in their outer shells, and if they possess perfectly paired electrons it’s stable.  However molecules with unpaired electrons become volatile and unstable.

Free radicals are molecules with an unpaired electron making them highly volatile and has the potential to cause serious damage to the cells in your body.  That said, free radicals won’t cause any harm to your body as long as they’re kept under control it.

But when things go awry and too many free radicals roam freely in your body, it can wreak havoc and cause massive inflammation.  This destructive process is the underlying cause of premature aging, as well as many chronic diseases.

And here’s the problem… things go awry ALL too often in your body.  In fact, modern lifestyle lends itself to chronic over-production of free radicals.  Which means you age faster, get sick more often and become more susceptible to chronic age-related diseases like heart disease, arthritis, adult onset diabetes and dementia.

So here’s the million dollar questions… how do you stop free radicals from getting out of control, so you don’t let inflammation ruin your health and youthful looks?  

The answer is actually much easier and simpler than you may think.


Make free radicals happy and stable by giving them what they’re missing… an electron.  By providing free radicals with an electron, you effectively stop them from inflicting any further damage.

This is the most effective way to stop inflammation and slow the aging process from speeding out of control.

And there’s one molecule that can do this… Antioxidants.

So, from the above list of foods it’s clear that vegetables and fruits have the highest concentration of antioxidant properties, but how much do you have to eat to fight off all the free radicals?  Here’s what a recent study discovered…

  • A recent 12 year study by University of College London found that 10 servings of vegetables and fruits is ideal.

  • The study also revealed that vegetables were significantly more healthier than fruit… four times to be exact.

  • Each serving of vegetables reduced the risk of death by a whopping 16%!

  • Each serving of fruit lowered the risk of death by 4%.

  • People that ate at least 7 servings of vegetables and fruit a day reduced their risk of premature death by 42%!

  • Canned and frozen fruits increases the risk of premature death by 17%.

According to this study, if you eat the recommended 10 servings of vegetables and fruits you can lower your risk of premature death by at least 42%… which is amazing.  BUT who actually eats 10 servings of vegetables and fruits a day?  Most of us simply don’t have time to prepare and eat that many servings.  Aha!  Fear Not… there’s a solution!
