These are 4 simple but effective exercise you can do anywhere with or without a weight vest.
The first exercise is an elevated push up using push up handles. The elevated push ups are easier than regular push ups, but if offers another benefit. When wearing a weight vest, the elevated position allows for greater range of motion.
The second exercise is the lunge. You can do the forward lunges or reverse lunges in place or if you have enough space you can also do walking lunges.
The third exercise is the squat (heels off the ground). These squats are similar to the Hindu squats as I elevate my heels in the squat position. This variation has a couple of benefits. First and perhaps the most important is that it allows you to keep your chest upright. The upright posture shifts the weight from the low back to your quads, which is beneficial if you have any low back issues. Second, it allows you to perform full range of motion squats with full knee flexion without compromising form if you have a lack of ankle flexibility.
The fourth exercise is the elevated burpees with lunge step ups. An alternative to the regular burpees which is easier on the low back and less impact on the knees. A nice choice especially when wearing a weight vest.
